Leaving for a while. So pictures

Just a few hours away from getting on a plane and leaving the country for work. I'm about to find out what it's like to be checking on this blog hoping for updates and pictures. So before I go, thought I'd throw some on here myself.

Having spent some years in the navy, I'm not a stranger to leaving home. What is new to me is leaving behind a kid. No matter what kind of day I've had, Quinn has always greeted me with these big smiles everyday. What a huge upside to being his dad. But when Quinn found out I was leaving, he was just inconsolable.

I feel exactly the same way little man. But I'll be back.
Quinn can stand now if you let him hold your fingers. He leans toward the person he wants to be held by next. He makes plenty of noises. Mom took a video last week of his very first time eating solids. I came home from a long day and she showed it to me. What a funny way babies have of showing their disapproval on how the food tastes. He clearly questions the taste. "Mom where did you find this crap?"

Mom also caught him making some noise.

Friends and family came over today for a "surprise" early birthday party for me. Thanks Steph. And just to throw a little more sap on here, having Quinn around, I'll never have another birthday where I don't feel like I got anything special. Thanks for the handsome boy honey. I love you and I'll miss you guys.

Quinn will do so much while you are gone. I am sure Steph will do a great job updating the blog. I have been checking daily the last few days started to worry that there was not an update. But now I see why you enjoyed the last few days with each other.
