Back to the work force

Well, sadly after nine blissful months of being at home with Quinn I have to go back to work. I am excited about it, however I will miss my little man. I am going to be the quality assurance person for the Stonington Institute. It's a fairly large substance rehab/mental health facility. So, well, wish me luck. I also received an invitation to interview to enter the School Psychology Ph. D. program at URI. This all happened on Monday. Wholly cow. What a day that was.

Autonomy has hit Quinn in a big big way. Not only does he pretty much insist on feeding himself now, he wants to help choose his meals. And let me tell you, he knows what he wants and where to find it. This is Quinn at lunch time.

"Grandma, I want wheat thins with my sandwich."

Daddy went and bought himself an HDTV as a present to himself for me getting a job. He put his xbox on a shelf that's just the right height for Quinn. Quinn loved it and played with it for about 20min. Opening it, pulling out the cd, putting it back in, and shutting the tray. Ah what fun.

In other news. It looks like Dan's sister Melihna is having a girl (95% certain). It might be hard to see, but the babies head is on the right and the belly is right in the middle of the picture.

Going back to work was hard (OMG was leaving Mary hard!) but in the long run it turned out to be soooo good for her. The kids, and I guess the moms too, need to have some separation. This will prove to be very good for Quinn, you'll see.

Love the pictures! Quinn is on his way to becoming his own amazing little person. No more baby Quinn. It will be so much fun to watch him grow!!!

Um, Dan - can you FEEL the impact of my hand hitting you UPSIDE THE HEAD?!?!? Don't worry - you'll get used to the HD....But I agree, it is nice!! CONGRATS, STEPH! You'll be fine... Quinn will still need you... especially now that he'll be the only boy with THREE GIRL COUSINS!!! He is awesome! I love seeing every new post and picture!! Love, Grandma Joanne

Steph, Congratulations on your job. I work at a small substance abuse facility and it is so rewarding. I am sure you will do great. Quinn is growing up so fast and is awful cute. You will transition in to work fine and Quinn will do good also. It will be harder on you then him.

Congratulations Stephanie! That's great news. Looks like I'm doing the opposite and transitioning to being a stay home mom for the next year. We should swap advice ;).
