Oh the question every mom of a little boy waits to hear. Quinn and I spent the afternoon swimming with Nohno and Maki. After we all finished and they left, Quinn and I were standing by the dryer grabbing dry cloths to change into. Quinn was weaving in and out of my legs. As he goes in for another pass under the bridge he looks up at me and says, "Mommy. Where's your penis?" Cringe, really, are we having this conversation already. So I told him that girls don't have a penis, boys do. It's one of the things that make you a boy, and of course I go on and on trying to be more scientific and really explain things to him. Of course all he was hearing was blah blah blah wha wha wha wha ..... All he needed to hear was mommy doesn't have one and he was all good. That's alright, somehow I think I'll get to have this conversation again next swim season.
UPDATE: Just in case you've already read this here's a little more of the story. So apparently Quinn was listening. When I was getting Quinn's things together to put him to bed I could hear he and Dan playing in our room. In the middle of playing Quinn says daddy, you're a boy. I'm a boy too. Mommy's a girl. I had already told Dan the story so he said, "How do you know that Quinn?" Quinn said, "Because mommy doesn't have a penis. You have a penis and I have a penis. Mommy doesn't have a penis." Cleaver little boy. I apologize for using the word penis so much, but I just couldn't get over this experience and had to share.
I can't believe I didn't post this earlier, but Quinn has a new baby cousin Joseph Samuel. He was born on the 25th around noon, 6lbs 10oz 19inchs. A healthy little boy. We are all so happy for Joe and Kristin and the new little man in our lives.
In other news, still no camera. I can't imagine where its gone to. We will be getting another one in a couple of days.

Kids say the darnest things. So funny. Aren't they smart though? They remember things not only from a little while ago but from months before it is crazy!! Hugs to all!
Love Erin
Oh my goodness!!! That is such a story. Quinn is brilliant!! Who on earth would carry that conversation over?? Way to go Quinn!!! I love you. Stephie, thank you for sharing, I was laughing so hard!
Lots of love.
LOL!!! Steph, ask Dan to tell you the story about Tony, our family looking at a house to buy when we first moved to CT, and Dan's comments to me in the car about Tony. Dan will remember. That's where Quinn gets it from.
Smart boy Quinn!! I love the story glad you shared it made me laugh out loud. :()
