RAIN!!!!!!
Rain, rain, rain. It has been raining sooo much here lately. I really don't mind though because I just planted a couple of trees I haven't had to water and obviously Quinn doesn't mind either.
Here's what Quinn and I do when it rains.

A little bit of June
I finally brought Quinn in to meet my mothers class. The whole day went something like this. He walked into the class and the kids awed and sighed over him. We went out to recess with them and he was like a little celebrity. He was always surrounded by my moms class.
Exhibit A

Exhibit B.
They took turns pushing him on the swing. One person pushed and the rest of the class sood there and watching him on the swing like it was the most fascinating thing. Quinn was laughing at his shadow and the kids just couldn't get over it.

Exhibit C - need I say more. Quinn had a great time, he loved all the students in my mom's class.
This past weekend Quinn and I went with my dad and his wife to my cousins graduation party. Luckily my uncle has a swing set at his house so Grandpa Dan had a good time.

I'm pretty sure Quinn liked it too.
We never did find our camera. I really can't imagine for the life of me where the thing went to, however I am falling behind on my blogging so we had to go pick up another one. Here are Quinn's first attempts at photography.

The first several pictures went like this, until I could explain to him that you look at the big screen and not through the little square. Clever kid though, I think he had seen Nohno taking pictures with a regular camera so he thought he should be looking through a little viewer.

Wheres your penis mommy????
Oh the question every mom of a little boy waits to hear. Quinn and I spent the afternoon swimming with Nohno and Maki. After we all finished and they left, Quinn and I were standing by the dryer grabbing dry cloths to change into. Quinn was weaving in and out of my legs. As he goes in for another pass under the bridge he looks up at me and says, "Mommy. Where's your penis?" Cringe, really, are we having this conversation already. So I told him that girls don't have a penis, boys do. It's one of the things that make you a boy, and of course I go on and on trying to be more scientific and really explain things to him. Of course all he was hearing was blah blah blah wha wha wha wha ..... All he needed to hear was mommy doesn't have one and he was all good. That's alright, somehow I think I'll get to have this conversation again next swim season.
UPDATE: Just in case you've already read this here's a little more of the story. So apparently Quinn was listening. When I was getting Quinn's things together to put him to bed I could hear he and Dan playing in our room. In the middle of playing Quinn says daddy, you're a boy. I'm a boy too. Mommy's a girl. I had already told Dan the story so he said, "How do you know that Quinn?" Quinn said, "Because mommy doesn't have a penis. You have a penis and I have a penis. Mommy doesn't have a penis." Cleaver little boy. I apologize for using the word penis so much, but I just couldn't get over this experience and had to share.
I can't believe I didn't post this earlier, but Quinn has a new baby cousin Joseph Samuel. He was born on the 25th around noon, 6lbs 10oz 19inchs. A healthy little boy. We are all so happy for Joe and Kristin and the new little man in our lives.
In other news, still no camera. I can't imagine where its gone to. We will be getting another one in a couple of days.

Quinnisms
I have to do what Kelly does and start writing down things Quinn says. I keep saying to myself, I love that Quinn does that, I will remember that forever. Which never happens. Inevitably the memory is replaced by the next cute thing and out goes the old memory. I don't know where he picks up half these phrases but I would like to be able to look back on them. So, here goes.
Mommy - Quinn where are your pants ... Quinn - I have NO idea
I was watching Quinn counting the loose change on the counter and I hear him say to himself .... I have two dollars.
Quinn - mommy where are your sunglasses .... Mommy - I don't have any right now. I have to go buy a pair ... Quinn - go to store mommy, I buy them for you. Wow love, thanks.
Quinn - Mommy what you doing.. Mommy - I'm driving my son around and singing a song I really like from my childhood. What are you doing. Quinn - I'm just growing up. Sigh, yes you are my love. Not too fast though, OK.
Quinn, Dan, and I were relaxing in our bed the other night and he sticks his arms under our necks and says - I love everybody. Well my sweet love we love you too.
So I need to staple the camera to my head. It has gone MIA. Sigh, I have really cute swimming in the pool pictures from Sunday. I hope I find it soon.

Because why? But why? WHY WHY WHY?
If you couldn't tell by the title, Why has come upon us in full force. One day it wasn't there, the next day, it's every other word. Sigh, I know it's good for development, but after 10 or 12 but why/because why, I just run out of things to say. Oh, that, and it's driving me a bit nuts :0p
So as you can see, the camera battery finally came in. YAY. Here are some new and old photos of Quinn.
Auntie Karra and Uncle Jeffrey bought Quinn this awesome display of things. Bug house, lantern, bug net, bugs and glow in the dark snakes, flash light, magnifying glass, blanket, slippers, and backpack. Did I forget anything? No special occasion, they just wanted to. Thanks you two. He loves all this stuff. I find bugs, and sometimes parts of bugs, all over the house.

Here's Karra learning how to play Sakura, a game they play on my Mother-in-laws island. Surrounded by masters, and yet she still won almost the entire time?!?!?

Taking a moment for a photo op with the boy. It's so nice to be able to spend time with my family again.

The beauty, joy, and sweetness that is my life.

And finally, we are going in for our next Cardiac procedure July 7th. Please just keep us in your thought and prayers.
We thank you all for continuing to share our lives.
Love,
Steph, Dan, and Quinn.

Back on-line!!!!
Ok, let me start off this post by saying Dan has hurt his back somehow. This morning he was unable to go to work or even move around really. Tonight like a sensitive and supportive wife I went out to an event for my faith. Before I left I told Dan to just get Quinn ready for bed and bring him to bed with him and I would put Quinn in his crib when I got home. I came home around 9:30 expecting to find Quinn sound asleep in our bed. Instead what I found was Dan laying in bed looking quite miserable (poor thing) and Quinn sitting up giggling really hard telling his daddy, "Knock Knock. Whose there? Chicken Quinn. Chicken Quinn who? Boo who don't cry I'll share my blanket with you." How many jokes can you fit into one. Quinn was just about crying and falling over he was laughing so hard and there's poor Dan just laying immobile on the bed. I love that the boy can completely entertain himself and that he is such a joyful child.
I intend on posting much more often now, however my camera battery is MIA. I made the mistake of putting the battery in it's charger on the floor in the playroom. Needless to say after all the kids finished playing, the battery was goon. That was mothers day and I have yet to find it. Sigh. I think I will just order another one. Anyways, I will leave you with these photos and try to get more up soon.

Auntie and Quinn. Can you feel the love.

The Easter egg hunt we put on for the kids at the house.

The kids found great joy in playing in the closet.

Walks, Easter egg hunts, and Kite flying
The end of the semester is coming up very quickly for me and I've been working a lot. Dan and Quinn have had a lot of bonding time.

They like to go for walks in the woods.

They went to the park for an Easter egg hunt.

Which turned out to be a bunch of plastic eggs dumped in a field.

Regardless, fun was had by all.

It's hard work picking up all of these eggs.

But Quinn was up for the challenge.

He got 16 eggs. Needless to say they were all filled with chocolate. Poor Quinn, the eggs strangely vanished an reappeared with only a couple of pieces of chocolate.

Here's daddy teaching Quinn to fly a kite he made at daycare.
He finally got it in the air.

Melihna has been here visiting for a couple of weeks, so we've been able to get all the grand kids together.

I love it when kids from other blogs appear together. Here are Quinn and Lily visiting for the first time in a year and a half.
Here they are all set to do lunch.
