Christmas at home

It's been a while since I've said hello to everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the holidays. This was actually one of the more relaxing Christmas's I've had in recent memory. Our friends and families have decided to get together in the coming days after Christmas rather than drive all over the place to see each other on the 25th. After all we are all local. And it's not a bad way to go if you just need a relaxing holiday. And yes, having a Christmas at home with my small family was quite a treat.

I don't have any "Christmas" pictures to post, but I'm sure my wife will post them. Went to the recent patriots game with my wife, Kara and her fiance, and our good friend Marshall. Grandma (Barbara) babysat Quinn for 7 hours so we could go to the game. And though Steph was nervous, he behaved great the whole time we were gone. We got seats in row three on the home team sideline. Fantastic view as opposed to the last patriots game I went to when I was three rows from the very back.

Update to those who may not know. Melihna, my younger sister, is about three months pregnant. She is engaged to marry the father, who is a young sailor. He is just finishing his tour as a student at subscol in Groton, and got his orders to a sub at my old duty station, Bangor WA. He is also an FT, which is what I was in the Navy. So needless to say, Melihna is turning 20 in Jan. and her life has just hit high gear. Good luck sister. If you need advice about being a navy wife, there are plenty of good people to talk to. Maybe you guys will get a house on Bonefish Cr. And I'll come visit you I'm sure. How time is absolutely flying.

First offical snow day

Well Quinn finally got to go out and experience his first real snow day. Only problem.....snow boots 2 sizes too big, oops.

I ended up putting his slippers in the boots to take up the extra room.

He was definitely nice and warm. Only moving was a problem.

We had fun though.

Looks like the inclination to eat snow out of the air starts really early.

Walking was a little hard though. I'll go out and get some boots that fit before the next snow.

Hey beautiful eyes.

First hair cut

As I mentioned Quinn's hair was getting out of control. I was so worried he was going to wriggle too much and I was going to ruin his hair.

Strangely, he sat very still when I cut the back. Although when I tried for the front, things were a bit different, so I left it alone for now.

Here's the back.

Not too bad.

Ronald McDonald house christmas

Today was the annual Ronald McDonald house Christmas party. What a nice day. We got to meet a lot of really nice people. And it was actually nice to go back there.
They had some really sweet decorations.

And a Santa of course.

Quinn actually did really well with him. I thought we were going to get some crying as Quinn is starting a little strange anxiety. But he did really well.

Day to day

This Monday we went to visit my little sister at her work. They had a holiday sing-a-long. Quinn was quite the hit with the older folks there.
He also sings like an angle. Actually he was quite silent through the whole thing. Just looking around. He is actually in the picture below. He's the brown smudge second from the right in the line of singers.
Come here auntie and look at this!!!!
Did I mention his hair is getting out of control. Well, as you can see, it is.
Never knew walking could be so fun did you.........
Arrrrggggghhhhh, I'm a monster.

My boys

So the other day when Dan came home from breakfast with his little sister I realized that he and Quinn were wearing almost the same outfit. Totally coincidence as I hadn't seen Dans outfit before he left. So of course I had to take pictures of my matching boys.
Hello everyone.
He fell over a toy and scraped his nose.
We're getting the last little bit of use out of this snow suit. It is very close to not fitting. Luckily we have another. Heehe, thanks.
It was a little cold out. But he was really happy to be outside.
These pictures may look the same, but...... Well he's just too cute I put them both on.

I have a toddler

Sorry it took so long to update. I was trying to find a way to save this blog onto a disk for Quinn. I always intended it as a baby book for him so I wanted to save it and have it be only about year one. But I haven't found a way to save it yet and it's been too long since my last post.

So, we had a second birthday for Quin on the 24th since my mom's family were unable to celebrate with us on Thanksgiving. My mom made him a cake this cake. Which I love because it reminds me so much of the cakes my mom used to make for my birthdays.
Here they are trying to teach Quinn how to blow out the candle. Didn't quite happen, however we did find out the Quinn is a little fascinated by fire.
Messing around with auntie Karra.
Fun with water.....but oh what a mess.
This is what we look like when we start, although notice the floor off to HIS right. That came from Quinn inspecting the ice cream scoop, because of course I put everything into the water before I let him look at them.
We had lots of fun.

But I'm not quite sure why I bothered with the towel.
All I can say, is thank goodness for heavy bowls.
