The park disease is spreading

So Quinn and I went to the park yesterday, surprise. This time Kristin and Mary, Katie and Robinson come with us.

Robin really liked Mary.

You can't see this here, but Quinn was surrounded by every toy we own. Go mommy.

Do you see any similarities between the next two photos.

Fun with mommy.

Mary saw Robin sitting on Katie and decided it looked like fun.

Mary shares the joys of dandelions with Kristin.

So just to be cute I put Quinn next to Robin. Robinson was born three weeks after Quinn. Heehee, my little man. Robinson is however in the 90th percentile for height so it's ok.

Quinn loves to explore his daddy.

A daddy day

OK, so I'm going to try to keep updating this blog more often than the once a week we were doing after we got out of the hospital. It probably won't be everyday, but I'll do my best. OK, so Dan was able to take today off of work, which was really nice for him. He had pretty much been working everyday for the last three weeks and from here out work is going to be really busy. Today was a rare and wonderful day.

Of course we went to the park.

With lots of toys.

He is getting better and better at sitting everyday.
Now he can look up while seated and still maintain his balance.

We got a surprise visit from Noohno and cousin Makaila.

Makaila loves Quinn. She was shaking she was so excited. She can even say Quinn. It's really cute. She came in to the house, "Quinn!?!? Quinn!?!?." Quinn you're so popular. Both of your cousins were asking about you today.

Welcome home daddy, it's about time.

Dan finally arrived in Providence at 4:30p today. Thank goodness. It's so nice to see him and have him home.

Hey, I know you. Fancy meeting you here.

Umm, did I tell you how tasty my fingers are. I'd share, but you have lots of teeth.

Daddy you're very comfy. It's so nice to have you home.

This is how Quinn lounges now-a-days.

False alarm Of course

So I always say that when it comes to Dan's traveling I'll believe he's coming or going when he gets on a plane. However, today I was fooled. Dan did make his flight in Columbia. Unfortunately it took off an hour and a half late so he missed his connecting flight in Miami. Err, so no Dan tonight. He is however in the country so I won't complain. Trust me I will sleep so well tonight. Well, aside from feeding Quinn all night. Speaking of feeding Quinn, he's not overly fond of the squash or applesauce we recently tried. That's alright, at least he doesn't gag on them the way he did with the sweet peas.

Here's the little man wearing more of the squash than he eat.

Hopefully I will have news and an update about Dan tomorrow. And hopefully more photo's of Quinn. Sorry, I didn't take that many today.

One more day to go ..... I hope

I would like to send my appreciation to all the hard working single parents out there. Let me just say, I respected single parents before I had Quinn. However, now that Dan has been gone for three weeks.... I have the utmost respect. I have tons of help, people come over almost everyday and I'm still tired. I can't wait for Dan to come home, I miss him so much. Just his company is enough to help sooth me sometimes.

Quinn just had to have a toy in each hand.

Dan's dad came up from Virginia this weekend, so we visited with Grandpa and grandma Marshall at uncle Tony's. That means we've been to Tony's twice in one week. I think that's a record.

Quinn's first ride in a real swing. It was so exciting he feel asleep.

After that friends and more of Dan's family came over for a cinco de mayo dinner cooked by Miss Jessica R. Very yummy.

The tiger finally met it's match.

All about the sitting

OK, I think I can officially say that Quinn is sitting. This makes me even more excited for summer. Sitting out in our backyard, the park, maybe a little time at the beach. I figure I'll bring his tub and a huge umbrella. Put some sea water in the tub and let him splash away to his little hearts content. It's amazing to watch this little boy catching up so quickly. I know I keep saying it, but he truly is amazing. I remember my first meeting with early intervention. One thing we did was list some things we'd like him to be doing by six months. The first thing I said was do you think we can have him caught up by six months. At the time the answer was most likely that we couldn't. I'm pretty sure that was a gentle way to say no. However, looking at him now, he's so close. He's my hero.

Look Dad, no hands.

All in the family

Today was a day of lots of adventures. Quinn and I started the day at the park, again.

Then we went to a baby shower for the newest member of our family. Sean is now 4lb 8oz which makes Quinn's 11lb 8oz seem huge. It was amazing. Sean has the sweetest little mouth.

Even next to the rest of the cousins Quinn is starting to look like a good size baby. I'm not sure how to say that, he's is starting to look like he's really caught up.

All of the cousins together for the first time. Quinn, Makaila, Mary, and Sean.

Chaos ensued after this photo. A couple of photos and all of a sudden the kids scattered. There were kids everywhere.

Uncle Tony and aunt Joyce have a cool swing set at their place.

Does 45sec count???

Well, Quinn is officially sitting unsupported for short bursts of time. It's funny, I mentioned to the girls from early intervention that Quinn had been sitting unsupported in our bed for several days. Although he was only holding it for a couple of seconds. They chuckled and said it's harder for him to sit in the bed than on the floor. As we were having this conversation they sat Quinn on the floor and he showed me how much better he was at sitting on the floor. I swear held it until cheered him on and he looked up to see what all of the noise was about. Granted I started cheering for him after a couple of seconds. I'm just so excited for him.

I don't know how well you can see it, but he's sitting in these pictures.

Quinn has gotten to the point where he really wants to interact with very specific things and he gets frustrated when I can't figure out what he wants. That doesn't happen too often though, he's actually really good at telling me what it is he wants. He stares at the thing really hard and grunts. Hey, whatever works right.

Quinn is also doing this thing now where he sticks his tongue out, a lot. It's really cute, like a little strawberry.

My little cricket

I'm sure all of you who have had babies are familiar with the constant kicking and moving babies do, but I couldn't help putting up this video. I love the way Quinn rubs his little feet together like a cricket. I also figure Dan will love watching it too.
