The Mighty Quinn

Operation was a success. Going into the O.R., the doctors were uncertain as to exactly the extent they would be able to repair his heart anomalies. He might need multiple surgeries, or a temporary fix to allow him time to grow. But the little guy did great and the doctors were once again pleased. Full repair in one operation and they didn't need to leave his chest open. He will spend the next few days completely knocked out and motionless while he recovers.

He looks pale because when they perform the operation, they drop the temperature in the room to slow down his internals. The next few days are his critical recovery period, and the doctors say he is not completely out of the woods yet. But today was certainly one big hump to get over.

Both Steph and I had our mothers spending the night at the hospital, and waited with us throughout the operation today. About a half hour after Quinn was finished up in the O.R. great grand dad Paul showed up with his family. Quinn has now met all his grandparents and one great grand dad.

Everyone who's met Quinn tells me repeatedly how impressed they are with him. I have to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers. Quinn's day went very, very well.

God bless you Quinn, Steph, and Dan. What a ride these two weeks have been. Quinn (strong man), lives up to his name. Extrodinary pictures, combined with extrodinary courage, love, and faith. Words don't capture all the emotions.
Love,
Pop and Kim
