Handsome guy

I often wonder to myself, how did this young man get so handsome.

Doctors set Quinn's pace maker to a constant rate to see how his body handles it. When he's sleeping or when he's crying, his heart rate won't change. This is in preparation for the surgery on Monday when he'll have the permanent pace maker installed. The permanent one will have to go into his chest behind his rib cage. Not the preferred spot for these gadgets, but the doctors don't want to further impede the healing of his intestine by cramming the pacemaker into his abdomen. I know I was hopeful before that he wouldn't need one, but he's so good looking, it's possible he'll put them in style.

I can't wait for the first time he feels a young girl has broken his heart. I can tell him, "Your hearts not broken son, we just charged your battery." On the other hand, no good looking gal will ever get his heart to skip a beat either. So maybe he'll be the heart breaker.
All clowning aside, I've come to grips with the idea that a pace maker will not affect his ability to enjoy life. Enjoying the simple things life offers is a skill, and an important one at that. Kids may make fun of him in school, but who doesn't get made fun of growing up. For the most part, he'll be his own judge of what he can and can't do. Just like everyone else.
So he is still and always will be The Mighty Quinn. Part man, part machine. All inspiration. To his proud dad anyway.

Video time. He's a looker.

WOW , he is a looker.
I was going to suggest that our little ones meet some day, since they are 3 days apart from each other. I don't know if Isabelle can handle this little heart braker.
Quinn, we are praying daily for you to be able to go home soon.
Jess, Alex and Isabelle Bariso

PS Soon you will be able to do all the first you have dreamed of with Quinn.

Dan & Steph,

Joe and I have missed you so much these past three weeks. I think there's something in the Marshall genes that makes us physically ill if we go for too long without seeing eachother (like going through withrawal.) It was so great to see you today, and the icing on the cake was to be able to take a peek at our beautiful nephew. Quite a treat since we were only expecting to see you two. We figured we'd just wait to meet Quinn once he was home.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting this infamous little guy, let me tell you that as good as he looks in these newest pictures, he looks a hundred times better in person. More handsome, healthy, alert, expressive, you name it. Quinn completely reenergized me and gave me so much hope.

Thank you both for a great visit, And thank you to everyone else for continuing to pray for this baby. It's working!!!

Love,
Kristin

Oh, and one more thing. I know the focus has been on Quinn, and rightly so. But I just want to say Steph, that you're looking fantastic! I can't believe you just had a baby three weeks ago. You look great!

It's great to see our little man looking so good. Much better than last Sunday. As far as his good looks are concerned, the guy is just too beautiful.

So Quinn, Monday may just be the last surgery for a while. I’m soooooooo hoping that this is the case. I would like to see you all comfy and warm in your own crib. And I’m sure your parents are looking forward to that day as well.

I won’t be seeing you this week end. Grandpa Dan is starting to get a head cold and I don’t want to spread it around, but I’ll be talking to your mom and following your progress on the blog. We will keep praying for you and I’m looking forward to the day that we can take a walk in the park. Maybe some day I’ll teach you how to play racquet ball. I played yesterday for the first time in 8 years,it was great. It took me a while to get myself to the key board and even longer to get myself out of bed, but as you can see my fingers still work. I'll mend and so will you.

See you soon.
Prayers and kisses
Grandpa Dan

Quinn's folks,
It is great to see Quinn in video! Thanks for that. He looks great. Thank you for posting everything on your blog. It is great to hear about his condition but, by reading the blog we get an idea of your condition as well. Hang in there, it gets better.
Steph, you will have him home soon. But some of the stuff that you mentioned like taking him into bed with you, carrying him in a sling, all that you will be able to do in the hospital soon. I now know that it is not the same, but it does help hold you over. You two are doing great work. We will be back on thursday for clinic and would love to stop by for a visit, if that works for you.

Watching him on video just brings tears to my eyes. My heart is comforted to see him looking so good! I hope he can feel all the love that's coming his way. A note to "Pop, the blind bat", of course he gets his good looks (at least half of it)from his Nohno's side of the family! Just kidding! Dan and Steph, I commend you for the strength that you've shown thru all this! This will definitely strengthen your bond as a family. May God continue to bless you.
Love, Aunti Nik

Baby Quinn is so beautiful. We don't know each other, but we pray and think about the three of you every day. He is going to grow up to be a very positive and strong little boy. You all are already teaching him an incredible lesson in life. Our prayers and thoughts will continue to be with you.

Dan, they're all reffering to Quinn. Just wanted to let you know before you released the "Dan Swimsuit" calendar.

By the way... does Quinn's head grow to the size of a watermellon like Dan's or barely to the size of a strawberry like Steph's?

I'm putting odds on him having the only normal sized head in that family. He is so very very handsome.

Dan, Steph and Mighty Quinn,
I am so amazed everyday when I check to see Quinn's progress. Your family is such an inspiration and to do the blog site for Quinn to look back at I love that idea. Take care of each other and my whole office is praying for your family.
